New Zealand Industrial Abseilers have been working on our site for several years.
We are in the board making business, and part of our process requires fibre that had had resin added to be dried to a certain moisture content. During this process we get resin sticking to the walls of our dryers and this in turn results in downgrade product being produced. The cleaning process requires N.Z.I. Abseilers to enter the dryer ducts and scrape of any resin build up.
N.Z.I.A. have done and continue to do a first class job for us. Our operation is a 24 hr 7 day a week one and quite often we need to stop and clean the dryers in the middle of the night or on weekends and have not had one problem with N.Z.I.A. in their prompt service to call outs.
N.Z.I.A. are a very professional team that I would highly recommend for any Abseiling work. They have a first class safety record on our site. Nothing is too much trouble when extra unplanned work is thrown their way.

To this date NZIA have carried out four control contacts. There are a number of issues surrounding the chemical control within this area, with a mixture of public and private land needing to be accessed, proximity to an number of vineyards and other sensitive areas, and a strong negative perception of the use of agrichemicals. Also several of the infestations grow in ecologically sensitive areas. I am pleased to say that NZIA has dealt with all these issues extremely well.
NZIA have been very conscientious regarding adapting their daily work programs for the weather conditions. Due to the perceptions of herbicides by certain sectors of the local population and also the proximity of vineyards and organic properties, a drift incident could have serious consequences. Part of the control program is the notification of owners of these sensitive sites that work is being carried out in the area, which may affect them. We have had very positive feedback about NZIA's handling of this. To date we have had no reports of plant damage that could have been caused by NZIA control work.
NZIA's reporting and monitoring processes are extremely good with daily progress reports and presentation of an in-depth report at the conclusion of the contract. This is very useful in our analysis of the infestation levels on the island and in fine-tuning of future control programmes.
The Auckland Regional Council has found NZIA to be extremely professional and an asset to our control regime. I would not hesitate in recommending them for invasive plant control work of this type.
